Bruce Burns, the original owner & manager, began employment in August 1958 in Mobile, Alabama with one of the major worldwide dewatering companies in the United States.  He became the most recognized dewatering expert in the region.  He participated in dewatering some of the largest projects in Alabama, Georgia, Florida, Tennessee, Arkansas, Louisiana & Texas.  He had the opportunity to gain unique experiences in dewatering of a wide variety of soil conditions.

Burns Dewatering Services was incorporated in Alabama in April 1990.  In 2001, Mr. Burns began passing his wealth of knowledge on to his successor, a new and active partner. Thomas (Morey) Westmoreland has quickly become a dewatering expert whose expertise is most sought after in the industry. Our customers are guaranteed that Mr. Burns' legacy has been carried on with the purpose of maintaining Mr. Burns' level of service and expanding the potential for Burns Dewatering Services in other pumping applications.
